1. Who we are
Vizo (“Vizo”, “we”, “us”) provides a real-time AI-powered tutoring service that observes a learner’s work through their camera, screen share or uploaded materials and guides them through it conversationally. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Vizo.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if that is higher. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Vizo only with the involvement of a parent, guardian or educational institution who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for all activity that occurs under your account. Keep your credentials confidential and tell us promptly at support@askvizo.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. The service
Vizo is an educational aid. It is designed to guide you toward understanding rather than to supply finished answers. You acknowledge that:
- Vizo is powered by large language models and may produce output that is incomplete, outdated or incorrect. You are responsible for verifying anything you rely on, particularly for assessed work.
- Vizo is not a substitute for professional advice — medical, legal, financial or otherwise — and must not be used as one.
- Availability may be interrupted for maintenance, provider outages or factors outside our control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
4. Academic integrity
You are responsible for complying with the academic honesty rules of your school, university or employer. Many institutions restrict the use of AI assistance in assessed work. Vizo is built to teach rather than to complete work on your behalf, but the responsibility for how you use it — and for disclosing that use where required — is yours.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of everything you upload: syllabi, notes, slides, recordings of your working, and the material Vizo produces during your sessions. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that content solely to operate the service for you — for example, to extract text from a PDF, generate embeddings so the tutor can cite your own notes, and save the board from a completed session so you can revisit it.
You must not upload content you do not have the right to share, or content that is unlawful, infringing or harmful. We may remove content that breaches these Terms.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, scrape or resell the service, or use it to build a competing model.
- Attempt to bypass usage limits, entitlement checks or billing.
- Use Vizo to generate unlawful, harassing, deceptive or harmful material.
- Upload other people’s personal data without a lawful basis for doing so.
- Interfere with the integrity or performance of the service or its infrastructure.
7. Energy, plans and fair use
Free accounts receive a starting allowance of Vizo Energy and a smaller daily refill. Vizo Pro removes that limit and unlocks additional features. Energy is a usage unit internal to Vizo; it has no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged, and unused Energy does not accumulate between daily refills.
Vizo Pro is described as unlimited for ordinary individual study. We reserve the right to apply reasonable limits to automated, shared or otherwise abnormal usage, and will contact you before taking action wherever practical.
8. Payment
Subscriptions are sold and fulfilled by our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy, who acts as the seller of record, handles payment processing and is responsible for collecting and remitting applicable sales tax and VAT. Their terms apply to the payment transaction in addition to these Terms.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval shown at checkout until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
9. Termination
You may stop using Vizo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the service is no longer commercially viable. Where we terminate without cause, we will refund any prepaid, unused portion of a subscription.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vizo is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data or academic outcomes.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Where a change is material we will give reasonable notice — by email or in the app — before it takes effect. Continuing to use Vizo after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Vizo is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without depriving you of the protection of mandatory consumer laws in your country of residence.
